What a wonderful book for any potter! More answers and ideas than you can shake your pointy tool at! I promise you, you will keep coming back to this book for more answers and ideas. The 30 years of compiled answers and questions will cover every aspect of pottery making that you could dream of. Keep this book in your studio for some of the most inventive, fun, practical, and economical answers and ideas! A suggestion to readers from me would be to make sure and photocopy pages you want to use or they will be covered in clay in no time. I'm happy to say I'm on my third copy!

The Great Persuader

Great Persuader: Must have book on Collis Potter Huntington
Lavender is an excellent writer and serious history scholar. This is an outstanding book, and well deserves a space on the book shelf of any serious student of the Central Pacific or Southern Pacific. I've had my copy for years, and I can assure you it is well dog-eared and tatered from heavy and frequent reference. Lavender's sources are thorough (although he did not access the huge archive of Huntington papers at Syracuse University) and his remarks in general correct and precisely on target. Of the three great Huntington biographies, (the others are Cerinda Evan's Collis Potter Huntington and Oscar Lewis' The Big Four), this is by far the best, though I highly recommend Evan's work as well. This is a must-have book on this subject.

Ha li po te - shen mi de mo fa shi ('Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone' in Traditional Chinese Characters)
Published in Paperback by Tsai Fong Books, Inc (June, 2000)
Author: J.K. Rowling
Average review score:

More exciting to read as mother language!!
Of course, JKR's first book was the most eye-widening book among the 5 books (up till now) and it's more exciting to read in mother language as it takes time for a chinese to read an english book. (I guess there's no need for me to explain the greatness of the Rowling books) So lets go back to the translation. It's nice (but not great) as this edition is translated by Taiwanese which use lots of slang language which other Chinese-speaking people do not understand. So, personally, I would suggest the Simplied Chinese editon for nicer translation.

Hamada Potter
Published in Paperback by Kodansha International (April, 1997)
Authors: Bernard Leach, Shoji Hamada, Warren MacKenzie, and Janet Leach
Average review score:

Master potters reminisce on life and form
Really a documented dialogue between master potters Bernard Leach and Shoji Hamada, Hamada Potter is a wealth of insight into a way of life devoted to form. Following an incredible catalog of images from Hamada's substantial body of work (nearly half of the 232 pages), the reader is treated to a back and forth reminiscence between Leach and Hamada on such subjects as their meeting, the potteries at St. Ives and Mashiko, seeing, handles, chairs, glazes... It is truly a breathtaking opportunity to be able to eavesdrop on this remarkable conversation. For anyone who appreciates art and its ability to chronicle the depth of human experience, Hamada Potter is a document that enriches as deeply as the artist it celebrates.

Harry Potter 2004 Wall Calendar

Best Harry Potter calendar composition to date!
(Warning: The following text may contain spoilers for those who have not read the first two Harry Potter books or viewed the movies.) This calendar is entitled Harry Potter 2004 Calendar: Heroic Moments. It includes collages of photographs from the movies Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone and Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. Each month contains 2-3 brilliantly colored pictures from the movies, each collage representing an heroic moment. The themes included in this calendar are: Harry frees Dobby, Harry slays the Basilisk, Battling the mountain troll, Aragog, Down the trapdoor, The Polyjuice Potion, The search for the injured unicorn, The Whomping Willow, The Rogue Bludger, The dueling club, Hermione vs. Draco, and Harry defeats Tom Riddle. Each theme has a memorable caption from the movie associated with the heroic scene.

While this calendar lacks the centerfold of stickers that previous calendars have included, I felt this calendar was a must-have nonetheless for the Harry Potter fan. Its composition is ingenious, the colors are brilliant, and the photographs are the best quality to date.

Harry Potter a l'ecole des sorciers
Published in Paperback by Gallimard (January, 2002)
Authors: J. K. Rowling and Emily Walcker
Average review score:

My Jaw Dropped
My first reaction to J. K. Rowling's Harry Potter a l'ecole des sorciers was speechlessness. I had no idea that any book could be so wonderful. I'll admit that I found the first few chapters a bit dull. They were necessary, though, because they explained Harry's background and brought you up to the current state of affairs. The rest of the book made up for any lack of excitement in the preceding chapters. After I finished the book for the fourth time, I went out and bought the second installment in the series, then the third etc. I give this book five stars, and my personal recommendation to anyone looking for a good read.

Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets: Piano Selections
Published in Paperback by Warner Brothers Publications (01 November, 2002)
Author: John Williams
Average review score:

Truly amazing!!!! ^_^
I love this music!! Just like harry potter and the sorcerer's stone, this piano music is written exactly like the soundtrack. You can even play along with it. lol. The song "The Chamber of Secrets" is my favorite one to play, it really gets you into the dark feeling. "Fawkes the Phoenix" is very beautiful and my second favorite one. "Dobby the House elf" is my third favorite and well, they're all very good and you should buy it!
